笔bi = Pencil.

Bible Test today. Finally the last day of tests, quizzes, assignments and what nots...

I found a pencil on my chair as i reached the class. I thought," Well, i dun need a pencil for shading the multiple choices, i got 3 in my bag(newly sharpened from last night)." So i put the mysterious pencil on the chair next to mine.

Then I reached into my bag, slight surprise got me. I left my pencils in my room, all 3 of them.
I turned & looked at that mysterious pencil next to me. I realised what a miracle it was, that God provided even something SO trivial like a pencil for me.

I smiled, grabbed that pencil while no one is looking, and did my test.

Results: 24/32. Worse than the last test.
But i thank God it is not as bad as my Gen Psych class-70%

Then Prof Don Collins asked, " who wants this new NIV version bible?" I looked up and there was a brand new shiny blue bible. I held my hand high and a few others shot up too.

I got chosen. ( Hehehe...) I am a happy international, I'm favoured again. Praise God c(^_^)/

Amazing Love, How can it be...

A moving car ran over the back of my ankle.

My ankle was bruised red.

I did not feel the pain.

The next day...

I did not feel the pain.

I looked at my ankle,

It was well...

God is amazing...

Reminded me of the time that my sister's foot got run over by a moving car too.

She did not feel the pain.

The next day,

it was well...

Opportunity and encouragements...

Scored 95/100 for my paper 1 in English class after numerous journals, drafts and stuff.
I didn't know i was so "powDerful"(Singlish-Gun powder in that sense). LOL~ Better news, Prof Bonnie Landis gave me a entry form for Anderson University's Literary Magazine and told me to think about submitting my paper in. I was like, Woah...

But as i read the entry form's deadline, it was due today! I told her i won't be able to make it and she said, " I already called them to check if deadline can be postponed, and they approved saying it can be done, latest by 2 days. " She is SO nice~!!!
I tried not to look overly excited though deep down I'm like, WOOHOO~!!! I never felt so encouraged in school and she EVEN added, " Ginny, I told you before, you HAVE to write a book."

Words of encouragement can lead us to fulfilling what we thought we can never do.

So i told JM, when we do get married, i will stay at home and be an author! Dun even need to change outta pyjamas for work! He was like, " We'll see..."
I guess cos my passions or interests die or fade out easily when i'm distracted. And also, I'm taking Psych as my major, why be an literary author then? Dunno...

Well, Book will be in progress... c(^_^)/

Then i went for my speech tutoring for my presentation to board members this Saturday. And i was relieved to know it wasn't as hard as i thought! Plus, my tutor told me that this time round, it's easier cos it's open topic instead of hers when it was like world politics kinda thing.

I feel so much better in school now. More relaxed. More happy. More confident.

Sociology class- Courtship & Marriage

Test 1 after numerous quizzes

Results: 94/100

Praise the Lord~ but what happened next exasperated me.
I turned in a blank piece of answer sheet for that day's quiz. Totally slipped my mind due to all tests at the same time.

Disappointed big time man. JM tried comforting me, " It's ok, just keep doing your best, dun care bout the grades man. You can do better next time..."

Still sad, but still happy over the test results. HEHEHE... Thank You Jesus~!

Results

  1. I pass speech placement test~! So i have the chance to waive off going for a oral communication course! But i do have a write a speech to present to a board room to prove i can do this.
  2. I scored 29/31 for my Bible Test 2~! The hard work paid off. I like it when Don collins prayed," Dear God, reward those who have diligently prepared." I was thinking, means as long as we prepared, even if we r forgetful, God might still bless us and jot our memory.

PRAISE GOD~!

Now in an hour's time, PSYCHOLOGY TEST.

UNSAFE

Gestures threatens gigantically so
yet hiding to safety gets another scold
don’t see nor care about things
Those do affect me still

Frustrated gazillion times
Granted no sleep in peace
Disturbance always causing
Distress in midst of dreams

And when weariness starts a whining
Or some little complaining
Due to lack of rest
But the Anger will boil
Bottles thrown at me again

Shoved, pushed and shouted at
when would it all end?
Petty buys seem to control
All the dignity
Had enough i think

Even Carl said i am
Supposedly to be free
dreadful tired of all these
Manipulation of wants
And of commitment it seems

Carl says abuse are like open wounds
If you have been through so
Cos even in usual conditions
Nails would hurt us though

Hence Do NOT to scratch with nails
For it isn’t anyone’s right.
It is double damaging
For one who has been through so

Rage isn’t my issues
Escaping perhaps though
To deal with all the abuses
Is too tough for an abused old soul

Threats of no support
Or love nor care nor hugs
All i hear these days
Is how i am not enough

No matter what i do or say
Seem no big a deal
No wonder the scriptures reminds
Godliness with
contentment is great gain

One who forgot to love and be satisfied?
Guess is self torturous
I don't know what change a person
think it is all about choices

So i chose shutting up
or down is a better phrase
heart painfully hurting
in a stranger town from Grace

Worn out

Worn down...

God will meet all your needs, even when you do not find them a Need but a Want

Have i mentioned my new G-shock watch died in Colorado Mountains? It was like winter and my watch's debut in the snow and cold. And when my watch(Christmas gift from WX) kinda FADED out with condensation, i was like?! Wad?!

So i went around my daily activities (fun and excitement), I will be asking people around me, " What's the time now?" I think it got JM (my bf) a tad frustrated, that the moment we reach our town and his house, he whipped out his new Puma watch from his mama and ask me if i want to have it. (Say AWww....) I hesitated cos i DO WANT a watch, but NOT a new gift from his mama.

So i told him," Well, if u wanna give it to me, I will ruin it. All my watches have to be shock and water resistance. And I will SURELY get it SCRATCHED." His turn to hesitate ;p Then he shoved the watch to the front of my face and said, " NaH."( Which means GIVE YOU).

I'm like Aw.... But having a VERY curious personality, i asked him why he knows i will ruin his watch yet he wanna give it to me?! And he says because i need a watch and because he loves me.
(Say AWWww.... again)

So anyways, it is only a small incident but it impacted me a lot. I guess he gives in to me alot but i focus more on his flaws than his good. Need to go repent bout that. wahaha...

Anyways, my birthday came and my beloved bf got me a NEW watch for ME~! A white baby-G from Casio. Then we both realised that many gifts he has splurged on me are in white or black colour..( Zune-MP4, Sony Erricson Handphone, my newly bought watch, and my burberry's black spectacles.) And he say now he realises... lol~ I am spoilt by him really...

Then i got a birthday package from Singapore~My beloved Sister and Daddy got me a new watch-my first ever metal watch, a 3 flap card, and my sister got me a little box of Polvoron(a delicious, sweet powdery candy from Philipines, which her missionary friend got her). and my beloved sister sacrificed and gave all to me~!!! I love u Nicky Tay~!!!

How blessed am I? When i need a watch, i get TWO NEW ONES. Just like when my sister needs a computer for school, she got a laptop and desktop, blessed by a church's friend and her ex colleague. God is so good to us...

The card that my sister gave me was cool. On the front of the card states, a new year, a new beginning. This is exactly what my senior pastor in Singapore prophesied for 2008, and here i am in USA~!

The second page of the card says, 1 Peter 2:9
But you are the ones chosen by God,
chosen for the high calling of priestly work,
chosen to be a holy people,
God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him,
to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.
Ok. That is cool...

So i went back to reading a book for pre marital counselling,"Before the ring" by William L. Coleman. This book is really good for those who are planning to wed cos it gives couples a good understanding of what kinda flaws need to be change for one self and for your partner before you make a lifetime commitment. It is really important to get that deeper understanding of your future spouse, cos even their merits might irritate you in the future. And i was reading about gender differences in perspectives and there it was, on page 59,

1 Peter 2:9:

9 But you are a chosen race,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession,

so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

I was shocked. I ran to JM who was studying in his room and i told him it's a sign~! And he gave me the "I'm falling asleep" look cos i always tell him this. And i showed him the verse. When God repeats himself more than once, you gotta take note man~!

I think God is reminding me that I haven't been doing my job as His ambassador from Heaven. I really need to do something bout it and resolve to use my giftings again.

Resolution one: Touch lives when i move to the dormitories.

Today's CleanLaugh - "Tense"

An English teacher at Michigan State University spent a lot of time marking grammatical errors on her students' written work. She wasn't sure how much impact she was having until one overly busy day when she sat at her desk rubbing her temples.

A student asked, "What's the matter, Mrs. Sheridan?"

"Tense," she replied, describing her emotional state.

After a slight pause the student tried again ... "What was the matter? What has been the matter? What might have been the matter? ... ???"

Versions of Psalm 23

Psalm 23

The LORD, the Psalmist's Shepherd.

A Psalm of David.

1The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

THE SHOCKING TRUTH

Every little thing- By Hawk Nelson

Rapture

1 Thessalonians 4

Live to Please God

1 Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.

2 For you remember what we taught you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

3 God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.

4 Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—5 not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.

6 Never harm or cheat a Christian brother in this matter by violating his wife, for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before.

7 God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.

8 Therefore, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

9 But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another.

10 Indeed, you already show your love for all the believers throughout Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you to love them even more.

11 Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.

12 Then people who are not Christians will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

The Hope of the Resurrection

13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.

14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.

15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died.

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.

17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

18
So encourage each other with these words.

Peter’s Final Words

17 I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing.

18 Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Encouragement for those who feel down...

2 Cor 4:

[8]
We are hard pressed on every side,
but not crushed; perplexed,
but not in despair;
[9]
persecuted,
but not abandoned; struck down,
but not destroyed.

Guess this verse encourages me much though sadness overwhelms me nowadays due to conflicts. No appetite, no mood and ten thousand weird thoughts running through my mind.

Thank God through this nasty experience, i learn that my boundaries are not steadfast enough and it should NEVER be overstepped to invade my personal territory.

  • I am tired of initiation because it seems to the other party that i haven't EVEN start initiation.
  • I am tired of conflicts cos it doesn't resolve anything if anything i say has no stand or should be regarded as second opinion
  • I am tired that sacrifices i made are nothing compared to what the other party does
  • I am tired that i am disrespected just cos i havent been through college
  • I am tired of people who studied psychology, cos they act as if they r gods who KNOWS IT ALL. They seriously dun realise they are MERE HUMANS afterall...

I am tired, and so wanting to return to Singapore. So tired...

Anyways, ALL glory to Jesus Christ for this revelation-
That we are fighting against the darkness, rulers and principalities of the world and NOT AGAINST flesh and blood.

Why do i always learn things the hard way?

Lord will have a way, where there seems to be no way.

It was about this poem about a kite. .. coincidentally, this poem was written by the author of the famous hymn “Amazing Grace,” John Newton. This is the poem he wrote after awakening from a dream about a kite. And at the end of the article, it was this line that hit me the most "Before cutting any string, make sure it’s not one that’s holding you up".

Food for thought... here's the poem.

The Kite, or the Fall of Pride

My waking dreams are best concealed,
Much folly, little good they yield.
But now and then I gain when sleeping
A friendly hint that’s worth the keeping.
Lately I dreamt of one who cried
“Beware of self, beware of pride;
When you are prone to build a Babel
Recall to mind this little fable.”

Once upon a time a paper kite
Was mounted to a wondrous height,
Where, giddy with its elevation,
It thus expressed self-admiration:
”See how yon crowds of gazing people
Admire my flight above the steeple;
How they would wonder if they knew
All that a kite like me can do?
Were I but free, I’d take a flight,
And pierce the clouds beyond their sight.
“But, ah! like a poor pris’ner bound,
My string confines me near the ground:
I’d brave the eagle’s tow’ring wing,
Might I but fly without a string.”

It tugged and pulled, while thus it spoke
To break the string; at last it broke.
Deprived at once of all its stay,
In vain it tried to soar away;
Unable its own weight to bear,
It fluttered downward through the air;
Unable its own course to guide,
The winds soon plunged it in the tide.
Ah! foolish kite; thou hadst no wing;
How couldt thou fly without a string?

My heart replied, “O Lord, I see
How much this kite resembles me!
Forgetful that by thee I stand,
Impatient of thy ruling hand;
“How oft I’ve wished to break the lines
Thy wisdom for my lot assigns?
How oft indulged a vain desire
For something more or something higher.
And but for grace or love divine,
A fall thus dreadful had been mine.

United States of America

This is all bout life in America ~(^_^)/
(For those who haven't been here or places i just went)

About the weather

Transit planes from Singapore-Tokyo-LA-Denver-Indiana. And while on the midst of transit of terminals in LA, i was surprised to find that aircon in the airport is ALOT warmer than the natural air outside. I'm like??!?!? How come huh? Took alot to get used to this change.

Now it's summer here, i still wear sweat shirt n pants out in the afternoon sun. It's crazy. And summer is only for few months b4 the cold autumn, winter n spring. I wonder if 2 layers of clothes in summer(Anderson), and 4 layers of clothes in winter(Colorado) is still cold, how to survive sial?!!! God better heat my system up real soon or warm this place, else i'm gonna hibernate PERMANENTLY at home. Wahahaha...

About the food

My first meal when i hit my town was at Denny's, a fast food restaurant.
Thank God i opt to share my food with JM as i wasn't really hungry. Then the food came... Low morale, ain't good even when i lower my standards... Worse, it sucks in BIG portions. Man... And as days went by, i realised that in all places, the amount is food served in ONE portion is enough to feed 2 or 3 asians. Best food is available MOSTLY when u cook at home.

About clothes
In Singapore, I wear sizes mostly from Medium to XL. Occasional small maybe.
But right here, i wear MOSTLY small or EXTRA small. And occasional medium to XL if i shop in the junior
s' section, which is for kids. It's fascinating. I dun feel so big suddenly like back in Singapore, and it's a SHIOK aka great feeling...

About the road trip-May 2008

  1. Colorado- Winter on mountains at Aspen- Had my first snow sighting~! It is SO pretty, like amazing... I stuck my tongue out to catch the snow, unknown to JM;p Wahaha.. Jm's aunt and sis rushed right now of the house to make mini snowmans. And i was like, it's pretty cool but i dun wanna go out for it's TOO cold. I'm in THREE layers of clothes in a HEATED house and i SO desire a pair of good gloves, which i dun have. And u wan me to make freezing snowmans in the killing icy winds with my bare hands?! Throw that thought. I will NOT move my butt. Wahaha.. Anyways, mountainous views of forests of pine trees covered with snow were awesome with constant snow. And i made my first fire in the house fireplace, ALL BY MYSELF>> So proud. wahahaha...
  2. Arizona- Grand Canyon- Thought desert places was suppose to be hot or VERY hot? Surprisingly, it snowed before we came, so the roads were covered with leftover snow and the weather was chilly too. I was freezing at 3am++ when i went to catch the morning sunrise over the beautiful canyons. It was spectacular view from the top. But didn't get to go down the valleys and up cos we heard it will take 2.5 days to do that. Lack of time. Plus we rode the shuttles around different parts of the canyon to have diff sightings. But after awhile it seems abit monotonous. So i reckon those who wanna go, 1.5-2 days at Grand Canyon is enough if u are not a hiker.
  3. California- Yosemites- Weather was warmer here. Lived in a pretty little lodge in the mountains. Many streams and hills and Bass lake was huge and amazing. Think i saw at least 5 different types of waterfalls. It's my kind of thing. Happy. Went to the tallest one, had to run pass it with my coat for it's way freezing to have the GUSHING TORRENTS OF WATER falling down hard, and splashing all around, creating massive winds. It's so beautiful that i'm speechless.
  4. California- LA-Disneyland- I LOVE IT~!!! Everything was fascinating~! Every single ride, even the simple ones are way cool~ And the streets were fun too, like i step into a fantasy world. And every long queue was fun too, for they made every step that u move along the line interesting, like carvings or pictures or robots for u to take picture with. I HIGHLY recommend anyone to go there~! But when i came back, i heard Disneyworld over at Florida is more fun cos more rides, but of cos more expensive...
  5. California- LA-Southern California Park- All thrilling rides are here. Everything unimaginable. Way cool. Guys will like it, and gals will prob freak out. Wahaha... I especially like this horror tower ride, that people will have to go into an elevator and be thrown around in the darkness. It was AWESOME and exciting... Highly recommended too!
  6. Back to Indiana- Anderson- Moved in to stay with Tara and Phil, JM's Caucasian God parents. They were so kind AND funny. And they had a cookout with food that finally taste good... lol~ My room is so pretty and neat that i think i ruined it by shifting in. Cos im a pretty messy person. wahahah... Anyways, I'm beginning to like Anderson as the weather warms up and i begin to make friends...
About homesickness
I miss my family, church, ex cellmates and cellmates and frenz alot, MUCH to my surprise ;p

About what i miss in Singapore
  1. Awesome food OBVIOUSLY~! I LOVE spicy food and there ain't ANY here! Except occasional expensive Korean Restaurants.
  2. Meeting up with all my cool buddies and my huge family
  3. The hot weather
  4. Trinity Christian Centre and it's worship ministry and the ppl in there
  5. Basketball in the sun
  6. Swimming
  7. Gaming- Dota, Battlefield... etc.
  8. Karaoke-ing
About what i love in America
  1. 95% of people is patient and kind here, mostly. Everyone speaks to anyone and smile to everyone.
  2. There's abundance of food.
  3. Almost every house i have been to is VERY VERY beautiful. Even the restrooms are pretty with ornaments, pictures framed, knitted hand towels, fluffy carpets..etc. Need i say more?
  4. Beds are taller, u need to jump to get on it.
  5. Pillows, cushions and blankets are way more comfy.
  6. It's spacious and wide all around, u get to see horizons.
  7. You get to see a beautiful lake, the woods, or any natural scenery as you drive along the road and you can just stop by and breathe the fresh air...
  8. My boyfriend is here. DUH~
About life and pace here
Life is WAY slower here. I dunno if it is because i haven't start school and also i have nothing to do. Or because everything is just slower here. I guess the pace will be hectic once school starts. but right now, i'm just cooking for JM, doing laundry for us, unpacking my tons of luggage, slacking around, going to meet different people, making new frenz, and whatever people invite us to, and shopping for more winter wear... That's bout all...

Need to start in my resolution to go jogging... JM say i will never do it. Maybe he's right.
wahaha. I'm such a slacker, hope not getting fatter... IT RHYMES~!!! wahaha... self high~!!!

About thanking God for this experience
Without Jesus my saviour, i will not be in America.
For i will not have the finances, the sponsorship and aid of my school that filled with genuine and kind people (some i have already met). I believe that in all things give thanks, for it's God's will...
So that even when playing Monopoly, you will always win;p
(Quote by Vera- John's wife)

But really, why do we give thanks to God?

Psalm 118

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.

21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.

Isaiah 12

4 In that day you will say:
"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

And my fave verse

1 Thessalonians 5

16Be joyful always; 17pray continually;

18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

21Test everything. Hold on to the good.

22Avoid every kind of evil.

God is SOooo good to me..
I believe I'm very favoured. Some people really do tell me that (^_^)/ hehe...
Anyways, check out all fantastic pictures in facebook.(Taken by me or JM)

Not uploaded yet. Will do so soon after HE sorts out almost 2000 pictures. wahahah...

Either mine- ginnytay@gmail.com OR in my bf's- jteo@anderson.edu

Feel free to read my blog again n again n again n again, cos one post usually cost me at least 2 or more hours to write

Final Check up at Tan Tock Seng Hospital

Continuation of war scars of jabs from the last few hospital visit. i know that part of hospital building and its surroundings very well liao...

Went to check on the blob of liquid that they injected under my skin to leave in for few days.
TB test. If swell over 10mm= positive case. Well, cut the long story short, i have like 20mm long swelling! DOUBLE of wad's negatively expected. Dang~ But no need to pay consultation fee both time im there. dunno why. Praise God. So from TB centre, went to walk in clinic, and check with my primary doc. He pronounced-X RAY TIME...

Went from walk in clinic to another floor to Xray suite. Change into bathrobe. CLICK. Xray liao. Stunned. So fast? change back. Waste my time changing. lol...

Walk back from basement floor to 1 floor walk in clinic. Waited one hour. Went to buy spicy nacho cheese donuts and double cream donuts, (DELICIOUS) treat from Angela working at DR optics in the hospital.

One hour later, X ray out. No consultation fee either, only pay for X-ray? Cool man. Thank God again. Collect from basement floor, went to first floor and Doc gushes, GREAT, perfect health! Signed my entire health report for Uni and filled up everything needed, including the pass of my Hep B test. No need to retake. Thank God, else another jab.

Waited at the counter after seeing Doc. Administrator ask me, "Yes?"
I said, " I need to pay."
She said," No need."

I'm like," huh?! ( Plus the blur look that Nizz always say i have), dun need to pay anything?"
She's like," ya, u can go."

Hmm...
*The over-complicated mind of the blur face begins*
(while staring at the Administrator at the counter who didnt bother bout her)

"Think Ginny think! Why everyone didn't let u pay today? U cheated ah? go 3 different places but no need to pay a single consultation fee? How come? Shocking. Did u ask for payment at all? RECALL GINNY RECALL... think think think... But i did ask everyone at the 3 different stations if i need to pay at least twice, they all say no leh... how howhow???"
*Over-complicated mind stops its panic*

I left the hospital in healthy bliss from done checks and satisfying doughnut burps...

Thank YOU Lord *Wide grin*
